Deanna Church - Head Coach
Deanna Church is head coach of American University Women's Rugby. Church received her B.A. at UVA and PH.D. in Biology at the University of California. The following year, Church started her rugby career playing for the Toronto Nomads. After moving to Maryland in 1999 Church began playing for the Maryland Stingers, where she played as a prop and lock. Deanna works as a staff scientist at the NIH in addition to coaching the AUWRFC.
Sarah Schooler - Backs Coach
AUWRFC is excited to be assisted by a great veteran player and great coach of the backs. Schooler spent her collegiate career playing for Harvard and Radcliff. After earning All American status, she went on to play for the Blue Ridge Rugby Team as well as the Maryland Stingers. Schooler also played for the US Under-23 team in 1996 as well as the MARFU select side. Currently, Sarah works as a pediatrician in Maryland.
